How Padippakam uses cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve our digital library.

01

Overview

This Cookie Policy explains how Padippakam uses cookies and similar browser technologies when you visit our digital library. It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control our use of them.

By continuing to use Padippakam, you agree to the use of essential cookies. You may opt out of non-essential cookies at any time through your browser settings.

We do not use advertising cookies or share cookie data with ad networks. Ever.
02

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer or mobile device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site owners.

Similar technologies include localStorage (browser-based storage), sessionStorage (temporary session data), and web beacons (small pixels used for analytics). We use some of these in addition to traditional cookies.

Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which remain on your device until they expire or you delete them).

03

Types of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

Always Active

These cookies are strictly necessary to provide the platform and cannot be disabled. They enable core functionality such as:

  • Maintaining your login session so you stay signed in as you browse
  • Storing a CSRF token to protect against cross-site request forgery
  • Remembering your cookie preference choice
  • Load-balancing requests across our servers

Preference Cookies

Optional

These cookies remember choices you make to personalise your experience:

  • Theme preference (light or dark mode)
  • Display language and script rendering settings
  • Text size and reading layout preferences
  • Last-visited content categories

Analytics Cookies

Optional

We use anonymised, aggregate analytics to understand how the platform is used and to improve it:

  • Pages visited and time spent reading
  • Search queries (anonymised)
  • Which content types are most popular
  • General geographic region (country level only, no precise location)
We do not use marketing, targeting, or advertising cookies of any kind. We have no relationship with advertising networks.
04

Third-Party Cookies

Padippakam uses a small number of trusted third-party services that may set their own cookies:

  • Analytics provider: We use a privacy-focused analytics tool (no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting, data stored in the EU). This may set an anonymous identifier cookie.
  • Content delivery network (CDN): Our CDN may set a session cookie to route your requests to the nearest server for faster load times.

We do not embed social media widgets, advertising pixels, or tracking scripts from social networks. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar advertising-linked services.

05

Managing Your Cookies

You have several options to control how cookies are used:

Browser settings

All modern browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. Refer to your browser's help documentation:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and may break core platform features. Blocking preference cookies means your theme and display settings will not be saved between sessions.

Do Not Track

We honour the Do Not Track (DNT) browser signal. When DNT is enabled, we disable all non-essential cookies and analytics tracking automatically.

06

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal and regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify registered users by email.

We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
