About
Padippakam

Padippakam — meaning "library" in Tamil — is a non-profit digital library dedicated to preserving and sharing the richness of Tamil literary heritage with readers around the world.

Our Mission

Making Tamil literature accessible to all

Tamil is one of the world's longest surviving classical languages, with a literary tradition spanning more than 2,000 years. Yet much of this heritage remains inaccessible — locked away in physical archives, out-of-print books, or scattered across the internet in inconsistent formats.

Padippakam was founded in 2022 to change that. We digitise, translate, and curate Tamil works — from ancient Sangam poetry to modern fiction — and make them freely available to anyone, anywhere in the world.
